I think our biggest challenges are finding sustainable funding for the partnership beyond this year, and ensuring that we are serving enough kids-that includes new arrival refugees who are being placed outside of Baltimore City and are quite a challenge to reach, and get to and from the museum which is in downtown Baltimore.
Evaluation is another major challenge due to the lack of funding for staff who is proficient in evaluation. Within our search for funding - transportation is the main challenge.
Finding funds has not been as big a challenge for us (we have the assistance of a great development team) as finding a way to effectively evaluate the programs. Numbers alone do not adequately reflect the small, but significant affect that we 'know' anecdotally.
Similarly, our biggest challenge has been funding and evaluation related. We are able to fundraise and cover costs annually, but it would be great to receive substantial long-term support. We would also like to get the funding to improve our methods for evaluation.
