BCCC is most proud of the fact that through our partnership with The Walters we have managed to leverage funds towards a shared position in the form of a Community Art Corps Coordinator who has really made the partnership sustainable. We are also proud of the fact that our partnership seems to be completely mutually beneficial for both organizations, and that we have an open and honest way of communicating about the direction we are all going in. Most importantly, we are able to serve such a hard to reach vulnerable population in the city of Baltimore!
The Walters is proud that they have an opportunity to serve this audience and also that they are able to help create awareness around the issue of refugees living in the city. Additionally, we are proud of the fact that the kids seem to enjoy themselves and respond enthusiastically to the museum setting.
Recently, the Corcoran is proud to have transitioned our three ArtReach “artists-in-residence” from contracted to salaried, staff positions. This changeover has allowed ArtReach to strengthen communication between our community partners and the museum. Additionally, ArtReach staff is now able to cultivate a deeper collaboration with staff at their respective community sites and develop sustainable relationships with the youth and families we serve.
Most of all, we are proud to see our ArtReach students develop a sense of confidence in themselves as creative individuals through their experiences in the program.
